Our team of contractors have extensive networks and industry expertise. We have a “can do” attitude and work on specific projects that accelerate growth in the rural economies of the Auckland and Waikato regions.

Who we are

We are a boutique company of economic development specialists who focus on our rural communities for: local economic development; technology and innovation; rural infrastructure; food security and exports.

Primary Focus provides advice, facilitation, planning, problem-solving, strategy development and research on local economic development strategies, clusters, on farm productivity and turning raw products into high value goods.

We focus on results and work side by side with our clients to deliver practical solutions.

Why we exist

We are passionate about New Zealand’s rural economy.  We think differently about New Zealand’s rural economy and we challenge status quo.  We believe in caring for our environment while growing our economy.

We challenge status quo by bringing specialized industry and functional expertise.  We share knowledge and provide thought leadership.

What we do

We work with organisations to find their opportunities and plan for the future.  For rural businesses it means finding solutions to increase productivity and grow their revenue.  For local government, it means local and rural economic development and planning.  For communities, it means building resilience.

Where we work

We use the Auckland and Waikato regions of New Zealand as a test bed for our projects.  The rural areas of New Zealand are our focus.
